Start With the Age of Your Home
The most useful thing to know about your Greensboro house is when it was built. Homes from before the Second World War tend to have plaster walls, older windows and very little insulation. Tall two-story homes also tend to behave like chimneys. Warm air escapes near the top of the house and pulls outside air in lower down, so sealing the ceiling plane and attic gaps is often the most effective place to begin.
